Our fashion tech journey started over 7 years ago, with our founder Chelsea Klukas co-founding MakeFashion when she lived in Calgary. After years of producing the events and curating the annual collection, Klukas was inspired to launch the Lumen Couture line.

French designer Franck Sorbier utilized projection mapping technology in his Fall/Winter 2012-2013 runway collection. Inspired by the classic French fairytale Peau d’Âne (Donkeyskin), the designer partnered with Intel for the support on the project.
The deadline to place orders to arrive for the holidays is Dec 14th by noon.
I will be traveling starting Dec 15th, and will not be available to ship orders during that time. As a small independent business who hand-makes and hand-packs every order, I currently don’t have a method to ship orders while I’m away traveling. This is something I’m hoping to solve in the new year as my business grows.
Our stardust sequin jumpsuit and gold sequin dress were recently featured in a beautiful photoshoot by photographer Dara Breeze, owner of Brze Media.

Since organizations combining fashion and technology like MakeFashion have pioneered the space, LED garments have become increasingly popular. But the question still remains: will these garments ever become a part level of mainstream couture, or are illuminated garments destined to be limited to niche audiences for raves, costumes, festivals, and nightclubs?
When Laura Dempsey’s motion-activated dress took the runway, modeled by a leaping dancer, there was an overwhelming energy in the room. Since that day we’ve grown exponentially and have produced over 100 garments and events all over the world, but the dress has remained one of MakeFashion’s most iconic pieces.
After taking a brief break from events to enjoy our summer and focus on new product development, we’re pleased to announce a busy events schedule in autumn 2019.
