On April 30th we participated in Fashion is ART! In Tacoma, Washington with garments from both our ready-to-wear collection and new couture designs.
Unlike a traditional runway show, Fashion is ART! elevated fashion to the level fo fine art, with an on-site studio photography session and live drawing and painting of the models. The photographs and live art sessions were open for audience members to observe, giving a glimpse into the process of documenting and capturing fashion.

The Chameleon Cocktail Dress is one of the earliest MakeFashion garments, showcased at the 2013 gala. Despite being nearly 5 years old today, it is still one of the most iconic and showstopping wearable tech garments our organization has showcased.
Our MakeFashion Co-Founder Maria Elena Hoover recently visited in Guanajuato Mexico, a beautiful colonial style world heritage city located in the center of Mexico. While there, Lumen Couture participated in a photoshoot outside El Teatro Juárez, and in the streets.
Studio Proforma (designers Nicola Buttari and Martino Chiti) developed the dress as an audiovisual installation for fashion label DROMe. The images respond by changing designs and speed based on sounds and music.
