DIY FashionTech Kit — Make Your Own Wearable Tech
A complete LED kit for building your own wearable technology. No soldering. No programming. Plug in via USB and start creating.
Built for Beginners
This kit is designed for people with zero electronics experience. There is no soldering involved. There is no code to write. Everything connects together with standard connectors, and the kit runs off USB power — plug it into any USB power bank or wall adapter.
If you can follow a YouTube video, you can build with this kit.
No Soldering
All connections are plug-and-play. Standard connectors, no iron required.
No Programming
Works out of the box with pre-loaded effects. Arduino compatible for those who want to go further.
USB Powered
Runs from any standard USB power bank. No special batteries needed.
What's Included
Each kit contains the core components needed to build LED wearable projects:
- Addressable LED strip (flexible, cuttable to length)
- Microcontroller with pre-loaded light patterns
- USB power cable
- Connector wires (no soldering — standard plug connectors)
- Instruction card with QR code linking to video tutorials
The LEDs come pre-programmed with multiple effects: color cycle, rainbow, sparkle, chase, and more. Change modes with the onboard button.
Arduino Compatible
The included microcontroller is Arduino-compatible. For beginners, the pre-loaded effects work immediately with no setup. For makers who want custom control, connect it to the Arduino IDE and program your own patterns, colors, and reactive behaviors.
The kit uses standard WS2812B (NeoPixel-compatible) LEDs, so any Arduino LED library works with it.
Tutorial Support
Step-by-step YouTube video tutorials walk through each project from start to finish. The tutorials cover basic assembly, attaching LEDs to garments, common project ideas, and troubleshooting.
Additional tutorials, project ideas, and resources are available at Wearable Tutorials, our sister site dedicated to DIY wearable technology education.
